Ductwork Installation, Repair & Airflow Improvements
Even a perfectly good furnace or AC can't perform well through leaky, undersized, or poorly designed ductwork. We inspect, repair, seal, and redesign duct systems to fix rooms that never feel right and to cut the energy losses that leaky ducts cause.
Signs you may need this service
- Some rooms are always too hot or too cold compared to the rest of the house
- Visible gaps, disconnected sections, or crushed flex duct in the attic, crawlspace, or basement
- Excessive dust coming from the vents
- Loud rattling or whistling from the ducts when the system runs
- High energy bills relative to the size of the home
What's included
- Duct inspection and airflow testing room by room
- Sealing leaks and reconnecting disconnected duct sections
- Resizing or redesigning ducts that were never sized correctly for the system
- New duct installation for additions or renovated spaces
- Balancing dampers to even out airflow between rooms
Repair or replace?
Sealing and repairing existing ductwork is often enough to fix uneven temperatures and airflow noise. Full duct replacement usually makes sense when ducts are severely undersized for the equipment, damaged beyond repair, or when a major renovation already has walls and ceilings open.
What affects the cost
Every job is different, so we don't publish flat prices — but these are the main factors that go into a quote:
- How much of the duct system needs repair vs. full replacement
- Accessibility (attic, crawlspace, basement, or finished ceilings)
- Whether a full redesign is needed to match a new furnace or AC's airflow requirements
- Insulation needs for ducts running through unconditioned spaces
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my ducts are leaking?
Common signs are rooms that never reach the thermostat setting, unusually dusty vents, and higher-than-expected energy bills. A duct inspection and airflow test can confirm it and show exactly where the losses are.
Will new ductwork fix uneven room temperatures?
Often, yes — but not always. Uneven temperatures can also come from insulation gaps, window exposure, or an undersized system, so we look at the whole picture before recommending duct work specifically.
