Furnace Repair, Installation & Replacement

A furnace that fails on a sub-zero Colorado night is one of the most stressful home emergencies there is. We troubleshoot heating problems methodically — including checking for carbon monoxide and safety issues — and help you decide between a repair and a full replacement.

Signs you may need this service

  • The furnace won't turn on, or the blower runs but no heat comes out
  • Rooms heat unevenly, or the thermostat setting never seems to be reached
  • A burning smell, or a smell of gas, near the furnace
  • Yellow or flickering burner flame instead of a steady blue flame
  • Frequent cycling on and off, or the furnace runs constantly
  • Rising heating bills without a change in usage

What's included

  • Full diagnostic of ignition, gas valve, heat exchanger, blower, and control board
  • Carbon monoxide and combustion safety checks as part of every furnace visit
  • Repair or replacement of failed components
  • Properly sized replacement systems based on a heat loss calculation, not guesswork
  • Venting and gas line inspection on new installations
  • Startup, safety testing, and airflow balancing before we leave

Repair or replace?

A furnace under 10-12 years old with a single failed part is usually worth repairing. Once a furnace is 15-20+ years old, has a cracked heat exchanger, or needs a major component, replacement is typically the safer and more cost-effective path — especially since efficiency has improved substantially in newer equipment. We'll show you the numbers for your specific furnace before recommending either path.

What affects the cost

Every job is different, so we don't publish flat prices — but these are the main factors that go into a quote:

  • Which components failed and current parts availability for that model
  • Furnace age, fuel type, and efficiency rating (AFUE)
  • Ductwork condition and whether venting needs to be updated on a replacement
  • Home size and heat loss, which determine correct furnace sizing

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to keep running an older furnace?

Age alone doesn't make a furnace unsafe, but certain failures — especially a cracked heat exchanger or malfunctioning ignition system — are safety issues that need to be addressed immediately. We check for these on every service call.

What does AFUE mean?

AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) is the percentage of fuel a furnace actually converts to heat. A 95% AFUE furnace turns 95 cents of every fuel dollar into heat in your home; older furnaces are often in the 60-80% range.

Do you offer emergency furnace service?

24/7 service is available. Our standard $89 service call applies 7am–7pm; after-hours calls carry a higher service fee that is not applied to the repair.
